ORLANDO – Carson-Newman softball has placed five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced Tuesday afternoon.
Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.), an academic All-American last season, was recognized for a second consecutive year, while Abbi Martin (Gadsden, Ala.), Mari Robbins (Sweetwater, Tenn.), Syerra Rogers (Graysville, Tenn.) and Kennady Warder (Harrodsburg, Ky.) were all recognized for the first time in their careers.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Bailey, Robbins and Martin have been selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and have advanced to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
Bailey had a career year, tallying career bests in batting average (.447), hits (67), doubles (13), home runs (18), slugging percentage (.893), and on-base percentage (.506). The junior became the program’s all-time leader on March 1st against Southern Wesleyan with her 36th, and she finishes the 2025 campaign with 48 career home runs. She also became the all-time RBI leader after her third-straight campaign scoring 60 or more. Her single-season batting average ranks 15th all-time in the Carson-Newman softball program history.
Rogers produced career-highs both in the circle and the box in 2025. The Graysville native notched career-best tallies in wins (13), ERA (4.05), strikeouts (116), innings pitched (105.1), batting average (.278), home runs (10), and RBI (28). Rogers will finish her Carson-Newman career ranked 8th all-time in strikeouts (380) while tossing the ninth-most innings (342.1).
Robbins had a career year at the plate, socking a career-best 12 home runs. She hit .339 while driving in 29 runs.
Martin finished the year third on the team in batting average at .364. She hit eight doubles, a triple and drove in 19 runs while swiping 12 bags in 17 attempts.
Finally, Warder hit a career-best .347 for her final season on the banks of Mossy Creek. Warder Drove in 24 runs with six doubles, a triple and nine home runs.
