2025 Schedule
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women’s soccer head coach Simon Duffy has officially announced his team’s schedule for the upcoming 2025 season.
It’s a 15-game schedule in 2025 for Carson-Newman. Eight home games and seven on the road for a C-N group coming off a six-win season last year.
The schedule starts with a road trip to Union on Sept 4. Carson-Newman won last year’s first all-time meeting 4-1 in Jefferson City. The Bulldogs won 10 games including seven of their final nine regular season games to make the NCAA Tournament.
“We played very well that day,” Duffy said. “I knew that team had a lot about them, they have some really good players on their team. They went on and had a terrific season in a very tough conference. Getting teams like that on the slate is good.”
Carson-Newman’s home opener is set for Sept 7th versus North Greenville. The matchup will be just the third all-time meeting between the two sides and NGU’s second trip to Mossy Creek in the past three seasons. C-N defeated the Crusaders 5-3 in 2023’s season opener. A road trip to King and a home date with Trevecca Nazarene follow, with the final non-conference game of the season coming on Oct. 8 at home versus Young Harris.
“It’ll be a tough slate for us,” Duffy said. “We need to be up for these games and not just conference games. And with that, not just the top teams in our conference. We need to be able to challenge and compete with every team we come up against.”
Conference play starts on Sept 17, as C-N plays host to a Catawba team that is coming off a fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Indians have lost just two conference games over the past three seasons. One month later, the Eagles get to host another formidable SAC school in Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct 18. The Bears haven’t lost a regular season conference game since 2021 and will enter 2025 on a 35-game unbeaten streak in SAC play.
“It’s good because we tend to play very well at home,” Duffy said. “Having teams of that caliber and to be able to play them on our home turf, we have to be feeling good about it. Regardless home or away, we know what these two teams will be about. They will be tests, but glad to have them both at home this fall.”
Duffy’s squad will play three conference road games to end the month of September. Trips to Coker, Mars Hill and Newberry in that order are all in a week’s span.
But, that sets up a stretch where Carson-Newman will play five of its final seven games of the season at McCown Field, starting Oct 1st versus Emory & Henry. C-N plays just three games in the first 15 days of October, playing its penultimate road game of the year on Oct 15 at Lincoln Memorial. LR comes to Mossy Creek on Oct 18 and then a road trip to the reigning regular season champions Wingate finishes the road slate on Oct 25. Anderson and Tusculum close the regular season and C-N’s home slate on Nov. 1st and 5th with Senior Day set for the 1st.
“We are coming off a season that was a disappointment,” Duffy said. “We had wonderful spring. If we can get the ball rolling in the preseason and early in the year, hopefully in October and into November results can come together and finish high up the league table so we are hosting another game. It’s been a really intentional and purposeful spring for us. The players have developed and improved a lot and the competition has been great. I’m looking forward to the year.”
All of Carson-Newman home games will be available on the Eagle Sports Network on FloSports with a subscription. Road conference games will also be streamed on FloSports as well.
