JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women’s golf prepares to compete for the third time in three weeks, heading to the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Salisbury Golf Club in Salisbury, North Carolina.
The Eagles are coming off another solid team performance in last week’s Oldfield Intercollegiate, finishing tied for 3rd. C-N was led by Ida Petersen, who used a 71-stroke third round to jump eight spots and finish the event tied for 11th at 11-over. Emery Fisher and Madison Cline secured finishes in the top 20, with Fisher finishing 15th and Cline in 19th, playing a significant role in C-N’s third-place finish.
C-N returns to another familiar course at the Salisbury Golf Club. The Eagles didn’t play at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational last year, but they did close the season at the Salisbury Golf Club for the SAC Championships, finishing sixth as a team.
Ida Petersen and Madison Cline played a big role in C-N’s solid team finish. The two tied for 24th at 10-over. C-N slipped a few spots on the final day, but a stellar 75-stroke second round from Petersen and a 21-spot jump from Cline following a 72-stroke second round helped set the table for the sixth-place finish.
The Eagles enter a field featuring two other South Atlantic Conference schools, with Emory & Henry and Catawba competing.
The Eagles will play the same five they have recently, with Ida Petersen, Emery Fisher, Madison Cline, Anaelle Picot, and Parker Miller looking to propel C-N to another solid effort.
C-N will tee off on the first round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at 8 a.m. in Salisbury, North Carolina.
