JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the sixth time this season, Carson-Newman baseball is ranked in Division II Baseball’s top 25 rankings. The Eagles slot in at No. 23 in this week’s poll which was released earlier this afternoon.
This is the sixth time that DII Baseball has ranked Carson-Newman in its top 25. The Eagles dropped four spots from last week’s ranking after going 1-3 this past week.
Head coach Tom Griffin’s team is 27-11 overall this season. 27 wins is tied for the fourth most wins in the Southeast region this season. C-N is 16-5 in South Atlantic Conference play this season, one game behind first-place Catawba.
The Eagles are joined in the rankings by two South Atlantic Conference teams, Lenoir Rhyne at five and Catawba at 11. C-N plays both schools over the next two weekends in conference play.
Carson-Newman is one of seven Southeast region schools ranked. North Greenville has the most wins in the region with 32 and is ranked eighth. Young Harris and Francis Marion also represent Conference Carolinas in the poll at 13 and 18, respectively. North Georgia is the only ranked Peach Belt school at 15.
