JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman women’s golf prepares for its first regional appearance since 2010, heading to the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia, for the NCAA South Regional.

It’s an unfamiliar course for the Lady Eagles, but the men’s team played in Gainesville in September, resulting in an eighth-place finish at the UNG Mizuno Intercollegiate.

“I definitely asked for some advice from the boys,” Ida Petersen said. “I think they can help a lot to prepare me and the other girls for playing on that course. Getting to know the course before going there is really nice. Especially preparing mentally to know the course before we play it.”

Three other South Atlantic Conference teams, No. 1 Anderson, No. 2 Wingate, and No. 28 Lincoln Memorial, are joining the Eagles in the regional field. Limestone and Tusculum also have individuals competing in the field.

Carson-Newman will send Ida Petersen, Madison Cline, Emery Fisher, Anaelle Picot, and Sydney Thomas to play in the three-day event, a group that helped the Eagles finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference Championships.

Sydney Thomas will be the first Eagle to tee off at 12:30 p.m., followed by Anaelle Picot (12:40 p.m.), Emery Fisher (12:50 p.m.), Madison Cline (1 p.m.), and Ida Petersen (1:10 p.m.).

C-N will play a round in the three-day event each day, starting with the first round on Monday afternoon. Live stats are available on Scoreboard.
